LOOK AGAIN: My Backyard is a photographic exploration of the small world just outside my door—the objects, creatures, plants, light, shadows, textures, and unexpected moments that can become invisible simply because they are familiar.

These photographs were made by slowing down and paying attention to a place I see every day. A weathered ornament, a visiting bird, an old tree, something growing in the garden, or the changing light can become something entirely different when I stop long enough to really see it.

I’m not searching for the extraordinary. I’m looking more closely at the ordinary—and discovering that it may not be ordinary at all.
