Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York

These photographs were created more than three decades ago while exploring Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn, New York.

Rather than documenting the cemetery's scale and history, this collection focuses on the quieter moments found among its monuments, sculptures, pathways, and landscapes.

Drawn to themes of memory, loss, beauty, faith, and remembrance, I photographed the details that moved me most: a grieving angel, a child in prayer, weathered stone figures, winter silence, spring blossoms, and monuments that seemed to carry their own stories.

Viewed together, these images become less about a cemetery and more about the emotions expressed through sculpture, architecture, and the passage of time. They represent not only Greenwood itself, but also a personal journey of observation and discovery.

Created when I was in my 30's and revisited decades later, these photographs form a bridge between past and present—preserving moments that continue to resonate long after they were first captured.
